Like you, we believe your child is a special gift from God, and we are delighted when children join us in the Hills Church Nursery! The Nursery is our Sunday morning care for God’s littlest and part of our Children’s Ministry program.
The purpose of our Nursery is to provide a safe, loving, fun, and comfortable Sunday morning church experience for both your child and you. To accomplish this, our staff will play with, read to, rock, walk, and take care of all entrusted to their care to ensure that they are content.
On your first visit, please fill out a registration sheet for your child who will be joining us in the Hills Nursery. Please sign in on our check in form, indicating where you will be during the time your child is with us – and please ask for a buzzer if desired. Our Hills Nursery lead caregiver is on staff with our church, and she is happy to answer any concerns or questions.
The Hills Church Nursery is located on the second floor of the Parish House – on the same level as the sanctuary. We do not serve snacks in this room. However, feeding bottles are allowed.
Toddlers and Pre-K
Parents of children aged 2.9/3 years through Pre-kindergarten should bring their children to the first floor of the Parish House – in the area of the building used by the Wellesley Nursery School in the Hills.
Children are welcomed into their classrooms beginning at 9:45 a.m. and remain in their classrooms for the entire worship service. Please plan to arrive well before 10:00 a.m. to allow time to check in with teachers and to make sure your child/ren are settled in before you leave for the service. Each room is staffed with one volunteer teacher, an assistant and a high school volunteer. A child care coordinator, who is knowledgeable about our procedures and policies, oversees both toddler room to provide continuity for the children.
The toddler and preschool curriculum is “Deep Blue” from Cokesbury. Deep Blue incorporates Bible stories, activities, crafts, videos, and games into a full faith experience for children. They will develop the skills to unlock the Bible message and grow their faith by leaps and bounds. Colorful, engaging, theologically sound materials invite children to explore the Bible in fun, age-appropriate ways, capturing their attention and ensuring that God’s message is taken to heart. Children will discover that their faith can grow right along with them!
Emily Gauthier, our Early Childhood Music Director, brings a joyful sound to all our younger classrooms each Sunday, teaching God’s love through music. This is the highlight of the morning for most of our little guests. The Toddler and Pre-K classes perform the Benediction on Children’s Sunday.
Our Church School classes are taught by dedicated volunteers, with training and support from Sally Tomasetti, Coordinator of Children’s Ministry.
Children in Kindergarten through Grade 8 attend church school in the classrooms located on the third floor. Click here for information.
