FROM YOUR CHRISTIAN SERVICE SUPPORT BOARD
The outreach activity of our church has continued despite the Covid-19 pandemic. The members of the Christian Service Support Board (CSSB) have remained in touch with the organizations which we have supported financially. Here are reports from two of those organizations.
Family Promise has a new outreach person, Paula Brown. Although for now they cannot house families at our Church, they are housing four families at leased facilities, one family will be moving into a house very soon, and they are negotiating a second house for June. Their volunteer group is still active and their national headquarters is working on new programs for families.
The Wellesley Food Pantry continues to be fully operational. They have had to move to the Unitarian Universalist Church just down the street from us during this summer’s construction at our church. They update their website weekly to request items in short supply, but most staple foods and supplies are always in demand. Food pantry donations cannot be delivered to our church, but should be placed in collection bins at Roche Brothers or Whole Foods or dropped off at the west side of the Unitarian church. Volunteers are always welcome.
