The Rummage Sale, organized by our Women’s Ministry, is an annual event, with all proceeds donated to local charities with an emphasis on supporting organizations that focus on the needs of women and children.
The Rummage Sale itself occurs on a Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., but a lot of the behind the scenes work is done in the week leading up to the Rummage Sale. It is one of the largest Rummage Sales in the area, and is well known for its many bargains.
Here’s how you can help! (It’s fun, and you get the first look at the items being brought in!)
- Donate items for sale: Bring your rummage to the church during the week prior to the sale.
- Help get the donated items ready for sale. (This is done during the week leading up to the sale.) Take in the rummage and sort it into various categories, e.g., children’s clothing, housewares, sporting goods. Estimate a price for each item. Even if you can only work a couple of hours, for a couple of days, your help is appreciated. When you sign up below, indicate which weekdays you may be available to help.
- Staff the Rummage Sale on the Day of the Sale Itself: Cashiers, sales assistants, clean-up, food and snacks people, are all needed. Plan on getting there a half hour early to get your assignment. Plan on staying a half hour late to help clear any leftover items into trucks so they can be donated to other charities.
Our next Rummage Sale will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016. When you signup below, indicate which days you are willing to work, and what kind of assignment you would like to have.
