Rev. Zach Kerzee

Director of Youth Ministry and Congregational Engagement

Zach is a Texan who was raised by a school teacher and United Methodist pastor. He studied religion and Koine Greek at a small Methodist school in Abilene, Texas called McMurry University, and then moved to New England to study at Harvard Divinity School in 2011.

After graduation, he planted a dinner church in Grafton, MA called Simple Church which held church around shared meals at a common table. He was ordained in the United Methodist Church in 2019, but decided that the United Church of Christ was where God was leading him. He served as the associate pastor at First Church in Sterling, and as head pastor of Worcester Fellowship, an outdoor church for the homeless in Worcester, MA. He is currently seeking “privilege of call” in the UCC – a designation for pastors who have been ordained in another Christian tradition that want to serve in the UCC.

Zach is passionate about youth ministry and is excited to become a spiritual mentor to the youth of Hills Church.

His wife Kendra is a high school Spanish teacher and they adopted two children out of foster care who are now teenagers. His family lives in Sterling with their excitable hound dog, Lawrence.
