Worship in the Time of Covid & Other Respiratory Viruses

What Hills Church is Doing to Reduce the Spread of Respiratory Viruses

It is important for us as a community to take care of ourselves and one another. Here are some of the steps we are taking to minimize the transmission of COVID and other respiratory viruses.

Vaccination

Most of our staff and volunteers have been vaccinated and boosted.

If you are eligible for the vaccine, but haven’t gotten it yet, now is the time! And don’t forget the booster!

Masking

Masking is not required but is optional.  However, unvaccinated people, and those with risks factors for severe COVID-19 infection should consider masking when indoors for their own safety.

Distancing

Distancing indoors is no longer required.

We will continue to livestream services, so you can join us from the comfort and safety of your home.  Click here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKnhvHNjbzntoSiRSvu3hZg/featured

Air Filtration

As part of the renovation of the air handling system in the Sanctuary, we added particle filters and ultraviolet lights (UVC) which inactivate many viruses and bacteria.  Portable units with HEPA filters and ionizers have also been placed in the church school classrooms.

Children and Youth Ministries

Our Church School on Sundays is open, as are all of our other activities for children and young people.  As of March 6, 2022, masking is optional for them.

Feeling Sick?

Please stay home, take care of yourself, and join us by livestream.  And let us know if we can help!

According to CDC guidelines (3/1/24), you should wait to come back to church activities until you have had no fever for 24 hours (not taking medication to reduce the fever) and your symptoms are improving.  When you return, please wear a mask and practice good hand hygiene for 5 days.  If the fever or symptoms recur or worsen, please stay home again.

We are facing Covid as a community! We have faced COVID together and have learned that we, as a community, are stronger than a virus!
