Advent Poetry with Rev. Judy
Our Christian year begins in Advent, meaning “coming” or “arrival”. This year, as in many years, there is much darkness in the world, war and sorrow.
Our curriculum from “Salt” states: “Maya Angelou is an Advent poet extraordinaire, in the sense that she often stands in the shadows and writes of the light. She boldly insists on blessedness and freedom, even as she confronts – with both candor and wit – the pain and injustice of the world.”
In Advent we await the grace of God to arrive. Join Judy on two Thursday mornings, December 7 & 14, at 10:30 am in the reception room as we read and reflect on the wisdom of Maya Angelou.
